MOSAICOS QUE PERMANCEN   I
Carlos Alberto Fleitas
With the advent of the new millennium, Cuba stages itself in a surreal ascendancy. Havana’s once illustrious department store “Fin de Siglo” is today in ruins. The images captured upon my return to Cuba denote a culture rich in its heritage, today detonated as is “Fin de Siglo”. Havana always dismembered to the rhythm of its loyal inhabitants stands framed by her fulgent solitude and stalled by her turbulent present, demonstrating against her history, her fiery to subsist in body and soul.
